It has been very light posting since the election--life itself has gotten busy. More tom0rrow.

Election Day

We have a beautiful day, today: blue skies and unseasonably warm weather. I was out before dawn, today and there were lines at two polling places on the West Side at 6:20 am. I intend to take my daughter with me to vote, at the nearby polling place in a church hall. I want her to see what actually happens--I think her mom would be pleased by her having a memory of the Obama win--I myself do not want. The wife and I cancel each other out, as votes.

It is a beautiful day for a short walk, in any event. It has been a very pretty fall.

Weather, Employment, Life/Death etc.

I took the wife downtown for a job interview--which seems to have gone pretty well--and the weather was truly filthy: Lake effect snow, sleet, rain with gusts of wind that made the low 40s temperature feel like the 20s. There is some perverse thing going on--every time I take the wife downtown, the weather makes it look more grey and sad than it already is.
For my part, I am winterizing the house and trying to get myself and the family used to a thermostat setting of 65 degrees.
Allegedly I am job hunting, as well, but I need to re-start my heart, or get help, or just catch a break--to get back into the game. I will say that I missed a funeral yesterday--someone who jumped off a bridge--the Lorain Road bridge into Fairview Park, thereby ending it all. This unfortunate had 'issues', but also had a professional career and plenty of money. I did not hear of the funeral until it was too late, as I am still young enough to not read the obituaries. I will pray for the family, not knowing what else to do or say. I will alao report some small self-centered resentment that this person has messed with one of my favorite views--off that bridge sidewalk, down into the Valley.

This blog is about living on the West Side of Cleveland--married (rather late in life) with a charming five year old daughter, and a smart, good-looking wife who is finishing a Ph D in economics.I have been Mr Mom for much of the past three years; I am looking for work.
